OSP & Videogames: An introduction

 1) What were the first videogames like?

The first video games was like a tennis game it was called tennis for two a simple two player Tennis stimulation built for a analogue machine  

2) How have videogames changed over time?

Video games have evolved during the decades by advancing in technology for example VR 

3) What do the most successful games have in common? Answer this in as much detail as you can. Think about audience pleasures - what do people like about playing videogames?

Most successful games have one thing in common and it is taking someone away from reality.
People like playing games to escape reality and to have a sense of relief 

4) What criticisms have been made towards videogames?

People criticise video games by saying they cause violence in children

  1. Rishi- well done for catching up so much work up to date. However, your work still is seeming too rushed for GCSE level of detail e.g. question 4, there is a lot more you could say about violence in videogames. Give some examples of types of games or specific games that have been accused of making young people violent or anti social (e.g. shooter games).
