Summer Project: coursework planning

Music video 1: Marshmello x YUNGBLUD x blackbear - Tongue Tied

How is narrative used in this music video to engage the audience?

Narrative is used in this music video by people having their mouths chained up. This links to the song title as it is called tongue tied. There is one lyric which says we are trapped and there are a bunch of people trying to get out but trapped. There are people running from the police in a dystopian environment. The police are trying to bolt a metal square on their mouths to keep them quite. This clearly indicates that they are in a corrupted environment and getting their freedom of speech stripped from them.

Music video 2: Years & Years - I Wish I Knew

How is camerawork and mise-en-scene used in this video? Use CLAMPS to remember the different aspects of mise-en-scene.

In this music video there are lots of close ups on the key singer to show that he is the lead singer. The lead singer is behind a window which has the sun beaming down on him, due to this setting it might tell the audience that he has a voice of an angel. The whole band is wearing normal clothes and they also have musical instruments. It seems like they already performed a concert and are performing again in the morning as for the messy backround and disco ball on the ceiling.
